Graduate Student Employment
Every fall, the School Forests hires F&ES students into a number of positions. This year, the School Forests team includes the following:
Assistant Forest Managers
The Assistant Forest Managers assist the School Forests Manager with management and administrative activities during the academic year. These activities include overseeing timber harvests, finalizing silvicultural prescriptions, communications and outreach, record keeping, assisting with the annual FSC audit, and special projects at the Yale School Forests.
Current Assistant Forest Managers are Frank Cervo, Matt Gallagher, and Rosa Goldman.
Supply Chain Coordinator
Currently, the Supply Chain Coordinator works with Tri-Lox Workshop and Millworks to develop new markets for undervalued timber. This includes creating a timber procurement protocol and working with loggers to ensure proper timber dimensions for innovative wood products.
Current Supply Chain Coordinator is Mark Foster.
Current QCI Assistants are Brenden Boepple and Austin Dziki.
The School Forests offer several postgraduate fellowships for individuals who have recently graduated with their masters. These positions include the Forest Manager, Quiet Corner Initiative Manager, and Naturalist Program Fellow & Research Coordinator. Positions are two years in length.
