Yale-Myers Forest hosts students, apprentice foresters, and researchers throughout the year at a full suite of camp facilities.

Yale-Myers Forest Camp

Housing – Housing is bunk-style and includes a mattress, electricity, shared desk and chair, and a fan. Bedding is not included, and all the housing rooms are unheated. Housing is arranged in:

  • 2-person bunkrooms (12 rooms, 24 beds)
  • 8-person bunkrooms (3 rooms, 24 beds)
  • Staff Quarters (2 rooms, 2 beds)

Classroom – The classroom is equipped with a projector, screen, whiteboard, and tables and chairs. The classroom can accommodate a seated audience of 50 people.

Outdoor Auditorium – The timber-frame auditorium is equipped with lights and electrical outlets. It can accommodate a seated audience of 60 people.

Office – The office doubles as a small classroom. It comes equipped with a projector and screen. The office can accommodate 16 people.

Lounge – The lounge has an array of comfortable couches and chairs, and is ideal for studying, games, and an escape from the elements. It also sports a growing library of natural resource related texts. The lounge has a pellet stove for colder seasons.

Kitchen – The kitchen is commercially certified. It has two large fridges, a freezer, one large oven, four stove-top burners, and a griddle.

Dining Room – The dining room is in the same building, and adjoins the kitchen. The dining room can seat up to 30 people at tables. The dining room also sports a stone fireplace.

Pavilion – The pavilion provides additional outdoor covered seating for 20 people around a large table.

Utilities – The camp has electricity and wireless high speed internet. Cellular phone service is available on the forest but can be spotty depending each phone’s service provider.

Yale-Myers Forest Lab

Yale-Myers Forest hosts a state-of-the-art three-season research facility that was completed in 2018. Lab facilities include modular bench space, wet lab, and outdoor areas with electric hookup and raised beds for common garden experiments. The lab is located across the road from the residential camp facilities.
